History

OPAC is a leading company in the Italian and European agricultural sector, focusing in the production of citrus fruits and vegetables.
The Producer Organization has been a key player in the national and international markets since the early sixties.
The founder, Antonino Campisi, was a real pioneer in the sector. He decided to cross the regional borders and move its operations to the North of Italy and rest of Europe to explore new business opportunities.
Nowadays, the company combines tradition and innovation, managed by the third and fourth generations. Giuseppe manages the land production while Dario is the commercial director. The youngest representatives, Nino, Roberto, Ludovica and Barbara, passionately follow the company’s history while focusing on future developments.
The dynamic approach, high quality standards and respect for the lands allow OPAC Campisi to be a leading company in its market segment.

Controlled Supply Chain

OPAC Campisi guarantees high quality standards thanks to the controlled supply chain. It is one of the founders of the Siracusa PGI Lemon Consortium. The controlled supply chain is an added value to the company and its products, providing higher visibility and greater reach.

Organic Products

The demand for controlled, certified, organic products has been on the rise for quite some time now. Consumers are extremely conscious of healthy food choices and dietary plans related to wellness. To satisfy these requirements, OPAC Campisi turned its production to fully organic since 2000.
The company achieved various certifications that confirm the high quality standards of production.

Logistics

All products are collected and packaged in the main factory in c.da S. Teresa Longarini, Siracusa. The headquarters are located in an area of 10,000 m2, entirely covered in solar panels, which yield 1MW of energy to satisfy the needs in an eco-friendly way.
The company is divided into four departments:

storage of packaging and relevant material

storage of citrus fruits and vegetables

fruit processing and packaging

4

storage and loading in freezing cells for a maximum of 1,000 pallets each

Sicilian Quality, European Organization

The company owns high-technology machinery to provide the best possible internal service. To this end, OPAC recently implemented an optical fibers-line to further separate and select the fruits depending on both the size and color.

The end-consumer expects constant freshness, quality and traceability. OPAC Campisi satisfies all these needs thanks to the Quality, Security and Autocontrol System, which is based on strict and continuous controls from the fields to the delivery step.
OPAC follows specific methods concerning organic production that allow Nature to fight parasites while still respecting both human lives and the environment. The staff offers consulting services to the other members of the Consortium related to the production process while receiving further controls by the European Union. Due to the strict and continuous controls, each product guarantees freshness, quality and traceability.
